Taking a moment to be with God

I woke early listening to the birds sing there songs. Off in the distance some rooster are crowing. I made myself a cup of coffee, grabbed a chair and headed outside. I sat and watched some deer feeding, in the next field, and saw several pheasents scrounging the ground. I closed my eyes to feel the warmth of the sun and listen to nature. I was in the middle of my prayer when I heard a niose I hadn't heard in a while. At first I thought the noise was from a dragon fly or a horse fly, but as I opened my eyes, I caught a glimpse of a humming bird. It was an awesome moment. Have you taken the time to sit with the Lord and be filled with the wonder of HIs creation? I must admit, in the hustle and bustle if everyday living I don't always take the time to sit in teh quiet and allow God to minister to me. God is awesome!!!

Out of Egypt

During time of the Old testament, Moses led God's people out of Egypt. Like Moses, Jesus has come to take us out of Egypt (earth) and bring us to the Promise Land (Heaven). In current times, we are often asked to not practice our faith and and beliefs. I was told, over Memorial day, that a friend was asked to leave his beliefs at the door if he wanted to continue to work for the company. How do you respond to statements like that? He has worked for his firm for many years and he has done an impeccable job. But now he has to decide whether he will keep his job and have to remain silent about his beliefs or try to find another job where he has the freedom to speak. My question, as Christians do we have the right to file a freedom of speech grievance against the company? Or as one friend says in speaking about accepting Christ as savior and dying to self says "we are corpse's and corpse have no rights". Didn't Jesus warn us when He said " men will hate you because of me." What astounds me is the claim that America is 70-85% Christian. What I see is a godless religion with no morals or values except their own! Lord help America.

You will know what to do

Take my hand, dear Lord I cry, for I am in need of you. Pick me up and draw me near, and bring to your loving heart. Give me a great big hug, Which is only just the start. To walk with you and talk with you, Your love never depart.

Let me walk beside you, as you lead I will follow, But more often, Lord You pick me up and carry me Through the troubling times, and over the rough waters, Til once again you set me down, And I daily decide to follow.

To follow you is my hearts desire, though most often times I fail. But you already know that Lord, and you know just what to do. You come to my lowly place, and tell me it's o.k.. once again restore my faith, and I thank you for your grace.

Thank you Lord for all you do, and for many things not seen. I'll praise you, Lord for what you've done for me. And try to keep in step with you, for the rest of my days. But if I fail, I'll know just what to do just raise my hands and surrender,

for you will know what to do. Written by Bruce Schultz

The false facade

I am certain that by now we have all heard the cliche "it takes money to make money". Well,I had a thought,(wondered where that puff of smoke came from, eh), why not put a twist on the statement, and change it to say "it takes happiness to make happiness". Keep up with me.There is a false facade, being advertised all across the world that in order to be happy you must drink liqueur, at a certain establishment, a certain item (a new outfit, an SUV or sports car) or getting all your hair back by going to one of those hair loss clubs. As children, we needed to have that brand new toy or a puppy, or just fill in the ____________ . What doe we fill our lives with in order to be happy? Do we fill it with things? I have yet to have someone come up to me and tell me that they weren't happy but they opened up their closet and suddenly became happy. For me, I ready some scripture, regularly sometimes irregularly, and have fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Left behind

The walls close in, the doors are shut, what happened, I can not explain, But I have been, left behind

Despair sets in, no chance of hope, friends departed, sadden hearted, all because, I have been left behind

What have I done, to deserve all this, it's too late, to turn back now, no where to turn, I've been left behind

Dear Lord I cry, I can't take any more, Please help me, take my hand, and bring me out, I am no longer, left behind. Written by Bruce Schultz

Thankfulness

I wanted to thank God for the job He will be blessing me with. He has't shown me what the job is but I know the blessing is just around th bend. "It is better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have one than to have an opportunity and not be prepared." -- Whitney Young, JR. GIG

Why you shouldn't respond to chain messages.

This message came in my email today. After DEP blog on Friday, I thought this would be a humorous follow up. I apologize for its length.

Why you shouldn't respond to chain messages.

If you send this message off to 20 people within the next 4 days, and each of them send this letter off to 20 other people within 4 days... In 40 days, approximately 10 trillion of these messages will cross the Internet. From day 40 to day 44, an additional 200 trillion of these messages will cross the Internet, at an average of 50 trillion messages per day. From day 44 to 48, an additional 4,000 trillion of these messages will cross the Internet, at an average of 1,000 trillion messages a day, 41.7 trillion messages per hour, 694 billion messages per minute, or 11.6 billion messages per second.Of course, the Internet will have ground to a complete halt way before then, and a good thing too, because by day 44 (assuming each man, woman and child in the world is tied to the Internet) you would have to respond to about 2 chain mail letters per second, sending off 20 responses each second, giving you 5/100 of a second to send each message. If you drop the ball, you will break about 1,800 ,000 chain letters per day, bringing almost two million times the bad luck upon yourself than if you broke the first chain letter to begin with. The logical conclusion? It is better to break the initial chain letter and receive one dose of bad luck than to continue the chain letter, and by day 44, receive 1,800,000 doses of bad luck.I knew one poor fellow who ended up in such a circumstance. He ended up having 287,345 heart attacks, losing 5,137 wives, got fired from at least 100,000 jobs, and was run over by a truck. His Visa card was also revoked. Nobody liked him anymore. He finally ended up committing suicide 459 times, but he was so unlucky, he was never successful. Finally, he resigned to the idea of not dying, and was immediately hit by a meteorite and vaporized. But his cells went on to experience even more bad luck.In 40 days, approximately 10 trillion of these messages will cross the Internet. Renew

I recently made an edit to my weblog, but some how the changes were not showing up. I checked every setting I could, still no changes. After pulling out my hair (what little I have) :-) I decided to refresh my browser. You guessed it, the changes were now showing up. It's just like life, we ask God to make changes in us, but we don't see any difference. So we keep on asking God to change us. The fact of the mater is He already has changed us. We need to give up control of our lives to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to get rid of any crud in our lives. This weekend is a great opportunity to do just that. All year long we take on the crud of the world and we need a little/alot of refreshing. I am looking forward to this weekend.
