Work Station

Prayer update!

Well, since I have been getting good comments lately from management, I asked if I could have Milan as my work station. I first asked the Director if he would consider Milan and he gave me an affirmative, yes. I emailed my manager mentioning that my wife and I are desiring to move there and I would like to have it as my work station. He stated he would discuss it with the Director and will get back to me.

Witness for Jesus

My daughter, Krysten-11 years old, mentioned how she was speaking to a friend when he said that he could not be a Christian because he lied. She asked him if he wanted to go to heaven and he said yes, then she asked him if he had prayed to ask Jesus to forgive him and he said no he had not. So she asked if he would pray for Jesus to forgive him and he did. WOW! I am amazed how the Lord works. PTL

Eye exam

Hello,
I wanted to let you know that my eyes have been diagnosed with Keratoconus. Keratoconus is the thinning and bulging of the cornea. I was hoping to have eye surgery to correct my poor vision. There are a few preceedures that can correct Keratoconus, but are not yet FDA approved here in the States. For now I will need to get contact lenses. But may need to have corneal replacements sometime in the future when contacts will no longer be helpful. This has been the cause of my blurry vision from time to time. One preceedure: Intacs ® are clear, thin prescription inserts placed in the periphery of the cornea (under the surface) by an ophthalmologist during a brief outpatient procedure. Intacs for the treatment of keratoconus is an FDA approved procedure may help.

Praising a little too loudly

- Wednesday night, Toledo police paid the United Methodist Church on Upton a visit after neighbors complained. Police say if it's after nine o'clock at night, music should be turned down a bit. That rule applies to churches.
Singing, clapping, jumping: at this church, that's what they do. This week, there's even more celebration as Easter Sunday approaches. On warm nights, the windows are open as music fills the air. But Wednesday night a Toledo police officer paid this church a visit after receiving several noise complaints.

Police Sgt. Richard Murphy told us, "I talked with police officers. They said you could hear the music for two blocks down the street and it was after 9 p.m. at night." Church member Stephanie Kynard said, "It was just a total surprise for them to come in on us like that when we were in worship and praising God." Guest speaker Todd Hall agreed, saying, "I'm not saying what they did was wrong. The approach was wrong."

According to police, the officer was just doing her job. Some neighbors across the street say at times the music can be a bit too loud. While Wednesday night's incidents remains on the minds of many, this church will continue to praise, loud and clear.

Police say these types of calls are low on their priority list although they say it is not unusual to receive noise complaints about a church.
