Four Seasons

There was a man who had four sons. He
wanted his sons to learn not to judge
things too quickly. So he sent them each
on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a
pear tree that was a great distance away.
The first son went in the winter, the
second in the spring, the third in summer,
and the youngest son in the fall.
When they had all gone and come back,
he called them together to describe what
they had seen.
The first son said that the tree was ugly,
bent, and twisted.
The second son said no it was covered
with green buds and full of promise.
The third son disagreed; he said it was
laden with blossoms that smelled so
sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the
most graceful thing he had ever seen.
The last son disagreed with all of them;
he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit,
full of life and fulfillment.
The man then explained to his sons that
they were all right, because each had
seen only one season in the tree's life.
He told them that you cannot judge a tree,
or a person, by only one season, and that
the essence of who they are and the
pleasure, joy, and love that come from that
life can only be measured at the end, when
all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it's winter, you will miss
the promise of your spring, the beauty of
your summer, fulfillment of your fall.

Moral:
Don't let the pain of one season destroy the
joy of all the rest.
Don't judge life by one difficult season.
Persevere through the difficult patches
and better times are sure to come some
time or later.

When we  come to the edge of the light we
know, and are about to step off into the
darkness of the unknown, of this we can
be sure... either God will provide something
solid to stand on or we will be taught to fly.

I feel used

The internet is a wonderful place to share thoughts and just plain surf the web. Yesterday, someone hacked and used our IP Address to say terrible things to some friends I love very much. I take no offense with anyone who thought this was coming from me or my family. My offense is toward the person who did this, and to that person all I have to say is I forgive you. I personally feel like my home was broken into our home and violated my family. This just goes to show you that you cannot be too safe on the internet. I have gone to great length to keep any private information like addresses and personal information off websites and blogs. It appears that I didn't go far enough. I will look into other ways that I can keep personal information safe from predators. This will not keep for having fun and posting on the blog. I did run a system diagnostic to ensure that I do not have any spyware, malware, or virus on my computer. I found none. If anyone has been hurt or offended by what was said please accept my apology. I feel bad when this sort of stuff happens. As my brother in Christ always says B4T. Let's move onward and upward!

IP Spoofing

It appears that my IP address was hacked. This is called IP Spoofing. I do not know why somebody decided to hijack it but they did. As the result of this there may have been some things inappropriately said. For this I apologize. When we were all spammed and we had to set up our word verification. I do not know if there is anything that can be done. I am also running a diagnostic check up to ensure that my computer isn't infected. and I am changing my passwords. Here is an article about IP spoofing. IP spoofing, also known as IP address forgery or a host file hijack, is a hijacking technique in which a cracker masquerades as a trusted host to conceal his identity, spoof a Web site, hijack browsers, or gain access to a network. Here's how it works: The hijacker obtains the IP address of a legitimate host and alters packet headers so that the legitimate host appears to be the source.

When IP spoofing is used to hijack a browser, a visitor who types in the URL (Uniform Resource Locater) of a legitimate site is taken to a fraudulent Web page created by the hijacker. For example, if the hijacker spoofed the Library of Congress Web site, then any Internet user who typed in the URL www.loc.gov would see spoofed content created by the hijacker.

If a user interacts with dynamic content on a spoofed page, the highjacker can gain access to sensitive information or computer or network resources. He could steal or alter sensitive data, such as a credit card number or password, or install malware . The hijacker would also be able to take control of a compromised computer to use it as part of a zombie army in order to send out spam.

Web site administrators can minimize the danger that their IP addresses will be spoofed by implementing hierarchical or one-time passwords and data encryption/decryption techniques. Users and administrators can protect themselves and their networks by installating and implementating firewalls that block outgoing packets with source addresses that differ from the IP address of the user's computer or internal network.

Moving update

My Project Manager was in a meeting and he passed this on to us:

Location of staff was brought up as a concern (again because of the large amounts of travel expenses (for both groups). It was asked...do we have staff where we need them? Again, our needs have changed and are compounded by the travel costs. No changes are expected at this time, but be aware that it is being reviewed at a higher level than I.

So for now, I guess it okay for us to stay where we are at.
